Licensure Preparation

A Program for College Graduates who want to Become Teachers

Our top-notch Transition to Teaching program is for individuals with a bachelor’s degree who are interested in obtaining their initial teaching license. We have two versions of the program: daytime in-person coursework that can be completed in three semesters, or an online program for working adults that can be completed in 20 months.

All of our programs offer the following:

Professors with P-12 teaching experience
Individualized faculty advising and mentorship
A program of study that reflects present-day schools and classrooms
An asset-based approach to students’ diverse backgrounds and abilities

Pursue One of Our Teaching Certificate Programs

The Transition to Teaching program offers three distinct programs with certifications in twelve different areas:

Elementary Education (in person)

Secondary Education (in person)

Secondary Education (online)

5-12 certification available in American Sign Language, English Language Arts, Mathematics, Chemistry, Life Sciences (biology), Physics, Social Studies, Spanish, Music, Physical Education, and Visual Art.
